The Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), previously known as Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, recently announced its minimum cut-off marks for the 2023/2024 academic admission cycle. This declaration is of paramount importance to the numerous candidates eager to secure a place at this prestigious institution.

The Distinguished PAAU: A History of Academic Excellence

Rooted in the heart of Kogi, Nigeria, the University takes pride in being the state-owned University of Kogi. The institution’s journey began in 1999 when it was established by Prince Abubakar Audu, the then-governor of the state. The name has undergone a series of evolutions, initially known as Kogi State University, before being rechristened as the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in 2002, and finally rebranded once more to Kogi State University in 2003 (KSU). However, regardless of its nomenclature, the institution has consistently maintained its academic rigour and excellence.

Of particular note is the commendable fact that the Nigeria University Commission (NUC) accredits 98% of the courses offered at the University. This is a testament to KSU’s commitment to delivering a high-quality education that meets national and international standards, thus making it a preferred choice for many prospective students across Nigeria and beyond.

The Admission Threshold: KSU Cut-off Mark

In line with its commitment to uphold academic excellence, the University management has released the cut-off marks required for the 2023/2024 academic session admission exercise. This benchmark serves as a guide to prospective candidates on their eligibility for the forthcoming post UTME screening exercise.

The University has set the bar at a UTME score of 140 and above. Moreover, candidates are expected to have a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in the relevant subjects. Only candidates who fulfil these prerequisites will be deemed eligible for the KSU post-UTME Screening Exercise.

These requirements underscore the University’s unwavering commitment to quality education and serve as a clarion call to prospective students to strive for academic excellence. Indeed, KSU’s reputation as a leading academic institution is maintained through these stringent admission standards.

As potential students anticipate the next steps in their academic journey, the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) continues to uphold its mission of imparting knowledge and fostering an environment of intellectual growth and innovation. With these admission criteria now public, interested students can further strategize their academic goals and move a step closer to becoming a part of the KSU academic community.
